PHOENIX – At its annual Manufacturer of the Year Awards luncheon today, the Arizona Manufacturers Council recognized outstanding Arizona companies and individuals for their excellent work and advocacy on behalf of Arizona industry.
The award winners for 2012 are:
Manufacturer of the Year: Suntron
Outstanding Small/Medium Manufacturer: CMC Steel Arizona
Excellence in Innovation: Larson Camouflage
Excellence in Sustainability: Dunn-Edwards Corporation
“These companies represent the very best of manufacturing in Arizona,” Arizona Manufacturers Council Chairman Steve Macias said.
“They are well deserving of the recognition they received today. The breadth of today’s award-winning industries – electronics, heavy metals, telecommunications and chemicals – shows that manufacturing is very much alive in Arizona and, with a business environment that is increasingly attractive to manufacturers, will only continue to grow.”
The AMC also recognized Dawn Grove of Karsten Manufacturing Corporation as the AMC Advocate of the Year.
“Dawn is not only a tireless advocate for industry in Arizona, but she is also a trusted friend and adviser,” Macias said. “Arizona’s manufacturing community has made many advances thanks to Dawn’s hard work. The Arizona business community is fortunate to have her.”
Today’s luncheon was held in conjunction with the AMC’s annual Manufacturing Summit, which featured panel discussion on transportation and infrastructure, aerospace and defense, as well as a discussion with Congressmen Paul Gosar and David Schweikert on the latest in Congress.
The event, which attracted 350 attendees, was held at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Phoenix.
