PHOENIX (January 6, 2022) — The Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry will release its 2022 Business Agenda tomorrow at the annual Legislative Forecast Luncheon presented by Cox Communications.
The event will take place at Chase Field, home of the Major League Baseball Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Chamber’s Business Agenda serves as the advocacy roadmap for the legislative session ahead at the state Capitol, outlining the organization’s positions on issues affecting Arizona job creators ranging from taxes to transportation, education to the environment, and everything in between.
“We’re looking forward to another productive legislative session working with members of both parties to advance policies that support job creation and economic growth,” Chamber President and CEO Danny Seiden said. “Arizona in 2021 regained all of the jobs lost during the pandemic-induced downturn at a faster clip than almost any other state in the country, and we want to advance smart legislation that will sustain that momentum throughout 2022.”
The Chamber will focus on ensuring that the Arizona tax code remains competitive and will continue to pursue policies that cut red tape and reduce litigation. The Chamber will also continue to champion commonsense safeguards that help preserve Arizonans’ trust in the citizen initiative process.
“The Chamber is the most reliable and consistent voice at the state Legislature on behalf of Arizona job creators, regardless of size, regardless of industry,” Chamber Vice President of Government Affairs Courtney Coolidge said. “From opening day to sine die, we’ll be there to represent our members’ views and work to maintain Arizona’s standing as one of the best states in the country to do business.”
In addition to the release of the Business Agenda, the Legislative Forecast Luncheon will include a fireside chat with Gov. Doug Ducey and a panel moderated by Hon. Art Hamilton, who for 18 years served as state House minority leader, which will feature Speaker of the House Rusty Bowers, Senate President Karen Fann, House Minority Leader Reginald Bolding, and Senate Minority Leader Rebecca Rios.
“On behalf of our 3,000+ Arizona employees, Cox is proud to serve as the presenting sponsor for the Arizona Chamber’s Legislative Forecast event,” said Percy Kirk, Cox Southwest Senior Vice President and Region Manager. “As we begin this new year, we look forward to contributing to a strong state economy and are committed to keep Arizonans connected to their work, doctors, customers and schools, while continuing the expansion and strengthening of our network in order to provide access to the most reliable internet services in the state.”
Cox serves six million homes and businesses across 18 states. In metro Phoenix, the company serves approximately 2.5 million product subscribers, and in Southern Arizona approximately 400,000 product subscribers, with residential and business digital television, 1G high speed Internet, security systems and digital telephone service over its own nationwide IP network.
“We thank Cox Communications for making the Legislative Forecast Luncheon possible and for the contribution Cox’s technology makes to Arizona’s quality of life,” Seiden said. “Here’s to a healthy and prosperous 2022.”
