PHOENIX (March 23, 2021) — Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry Interim President and CEO Garrick Taylor released the following statement on behalf of the Chamber and Arizona Manufacturers Council regarding H.B. 2321, an important economic development bill that passed the Senate and House on Monday with bipartisan support and was signed into law today by Gov. Doug Ducey:
“We applaud the Arizona Legislature and members from both parties for their swift action to raise the cap of the Qualified Facilities Tax Credit and extend a program that helps manufacturers offset the costs of public infrastructure improvements. These programs have allowed Arizona to quickly become a top destination for business relocation, expansion and job-creating investments.
“We thank Gov. Ducey and Arizona Commerce Authority CEO Sandra Watson for their ongoing commitment to ensure that Arizona remains at the top of the list for companies looking to expand and create new jobs.
“This legislation provides employers certainty that Arizona will remain one of the country’s most economically competitive states, and it sends a powerful message that Arizona is committed to maintaining its reputation for supporting tax and regulatory policies that encourage job growth, especially in the manufacturing sector.
“We thank Representative Ben Toma and Senator Sine Kerr for their leadership on this important issue, and we commend Gov. Ducey for quickly signing the bill into law and solidifying Arizona’s globally competitive position.”
