Chamber endorses slate of pro-business candidates committed to keeping Arizona economy competitive and growing
PHOENIX (June 28, 2022)—The Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry has made its legislative endorsements for the 2022 primary election.
“Each election cycle, the Arizona Chamber works hard to identify those candidates who we believe will be strong champions for pro-growth policies that support job creation and who will advance our state’s competitive position in a global economy,” Arizona Chamber President and CEO Danny Seiden said. “This year is no different, and we’re proud to support a bipartisan slate of incumbents and challengers who most align with the priorities and principles of Arizona’s business community.”
The Chamber maintains a rigorous process for supporting individuals for the Legislature. Incumbent legislative candidates were evaluated based on their voting record as it relates to the Chamber policy agenda and their commitment to enhancing Arizona’s competitive standing. Challenger candidates were asked to complete a questionnaire about their policy positions before participating in an interview with members of the Chamber Political Affairs Committee. The Public Affairs Committee made recommendations for candidate endorsements to the Board of Directors, which ultimately voted on the final endorsements.
“The policies advanced in recent years at the state Legislature have elevated Arizona’s reputation among the most attractive places to relocate, invest and expand a business. This past year, we’ve built upon those efforts through reforms that will lower tax and regulatory burdens, improve our tort and legal system, and secure a strong infrastructure and water future to support our continued economic growth,” Seiden added. “But there’s always more to be done to ensure Arizona remains a welcoming and competitive destination for job creators, and we’re confident these are the right candidates for the job.”
Following the primary election, the Chamber board of directors may issue supplementary endorsements for the general election.
