PHOENIX (April 21, 2022) – Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry President and CEO Danny Seiden released the following statement following the Arizona Supreme Court’s ruling on whether an individual income tax reduction passed by the Legislature and signed into law last year can be referred to the November ballot:

“Today’s historic ruling gives taxpayers the certainty they need. We now know that Arizona is on its way to having a simple, low, fair, and flat income tax rate of 2.5%.

“Already one of the nation’s best states for job creators, Arizona’s tax environment is now even more competitive for investment.

“The Legislature this session has already wisely passed important business personal property and commercial property tax reforms. Let’s use the remainder of the legislative session to pass a FY 2023 budget that invests in our K-12 schools and future workforce, meets our state’s infrastructure needs, and strengthens Arizona’s competitive position in today’s global economy.”
