PHOENIX (September 2, 2021) – The Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry is pleased to announce that Michael G. Bailey, former United States Attorney for Arizona, is joining the organization as its General Counsel.
Bailey will oversee the Chamber’s legal affairs portfolio and its operations.
“We are so pleased to welcome an attorney with Mike’s experience and acumen to the Chamber. As Arizona’s leading advocate for the state’s job creators, I am confident that Mike will be a tremendous asset to our members as we elevate their voice not only at the state Capitol, but across the legal system,” Arizona Chamber President and CEO Danny Seiden said. “Mike will also lead on issues relating to litigation and the business community, as well as on operational matters relating to the Chamber’s finances and accounting, campaign reporting and compliance, and vendor relationships, which will benefit each and every Chamber member.”
Confirmed by the U.S. Senate in May of 2019, Bailey led one of the largest U.S. Attorney’s Offices in the country, with a staff of 350 people, including 175 Assistant U.S. Attorneys. During his tenure, Bailey worked on issues ranging from national security, public integrity, and organized crime to cybersecurity and fraud. Prior to his appointment as U.S. Attorney, Bailey served as Chief Deputy to Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich, overseeing Arizona’s largest law office.
“The Arizona Chamber is the benchmark of excellence in its pursuit of the sensible economic policies that make Arizona thrive,” Bailey said. “I welcome the opportunity to join the Chamber in its efforts to strengthen Arizona’s competitive standing in the global economy.”
Bailey, who received his JD from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, will join the Chamber later this month.
