Arizona Chamber CEO Glenn Hamer reacts to Trump tariff announcement

PHOENIX (June 7, 2019)—Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry President and CEO Glenn Hamer released the following statement following the announcement by President Trump that new tariffs would not be imposed on imports from Mexico: “This is the right outcome, and we welcome it. We know that tariffs on imports from Mexico were going to wallop the U.S. economy, which is why the business community was so united in its opposition to them. "Now it’s time for Congress to do its job and pass the best trade agreement ever negotiated, the USMCA. Ratification would ensure our countries’ economic growth and prosperity for decades to come."
