Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry CEO Glenn Hamer statement regarding state Supreme Court opinion in Molera v. Hobbs

PHOENIX (October 26, 2020)—Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry President and CEO Glenn Hamer released the following statement regarding today's state Supreme Court opinion in Molera v. Hobbs: “Obviously, we disagree with the Court’s opinion. We believe the petition description’s failure to inform signers that 50% of the affected taxpayers would be small businesses, which are responsible for employing 58% of the Arizona private sector workforce, is a principal provision that should have been disclosed. Regardless, we’ve taken our case to the court of public opinion and we fully expect Arizona to strongly reject the biggest permanent income tax increase in Arizona history.”
