Waymo reaches new paid rides milestone

Nov 30, -1

Waymo announced last week that it is logging more than 200,000 paid self-driving rides each week. The company is currently operating in the Valley as well as Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Not only is this a double of Waymo?s numbers in less than a year, but it is also a staggering twenty-times increase in the last two years.

Waymo One operates around the clock across 315 square miles in Metro Phoenix, offering rides in Phoenix, the East Valley, and Scottsdale.

Waymo reports that its self-driving system covers over 1 million miles each week. It is now by far the leading autonomous ride service company.

Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport recently partnered with Waymo, becoming the first airport to offer Waymo?s driverless cars for rides to and from.

The company also partners with Arizona community organizations such as the Arizona Diamondbacks, Phoenix Children?s Hospital, and the Social Spin Foundation.

Their operations are expected to increase as the company expands its commercial robotaxi services in Austin and Atlanta through a partnership with Uber. Additionally, Waymo will likely launch a commercial robotaxi service in Miami in early 2026.
