State Rep. Tony Rivero leads delegation visit with Mexico City Gov. Miguel Angel Mancera

Here’s the third installment of Glenn’s look back at his participation in a historic trade mission to Mexico with a large, bipartisan delegation of stake lawmakers and business leaders.

A bit of color on Mexico City. It is the largest city in North America, with a metropolitan area of about 22 million. New York City is small potatoes in comparison. It is the political, financial and entertainment capital of the country. It is the economic engine of Mexico. The weather is almost always perfect, around 70 degrees. The cultural and culinary scene is world class. It’s a late-night town with dinners known to start well past 9 pm and a nightlife that buzzes well past my bedtime. And it’s safe.

The city already has a memorandum of understanding with the City of Phoenix, and the University of Arizona maintains and MOU with UNAM, the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, the country’s oldest university.
