Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Patrick Barnes to chair Chamber board for 2013-14
PHOENIX – Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry President and CEO Glenn Hamer released the following statement in anticipation of the July 1 start of the Chamber’s next fiscal year and the installation of a new chairman and a slate of new officers:
“The Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry is incredibly fortunate to have such a talented group of individuals leading the way for the 2013-14 fiscal year. Under the chairmanship of Doug Yonko, the Chamber succeeded in advancing numerous legislative priorities for the betterment of the Arizona business community, ranging from the simplification of the state’s sales tax system, to opening up new employment opportunities for our state’s military veterans. Doug’s leadership was instrumental in the development of four new public policy committees: Tourism and Trade, Hispanic Business and Emerging Markets, Veterans and Military Affairs, and Federal Affairs. His energy and insight helped position the Chamber for continued success in the future.
“I am certain that as the new chairman, Patrick Barnes will successfully continue the Chamber’s legacy of legislative success, helping to further establish Arizona as a highly sought after destination for business. His vast experience in business will prove of great value to the Chamber.
