The Environment Policy Committee is dedicated to streamlining environmental policies and regulations that are responsive to Arizona’s unique needs. The committee ensures that these policies are grounded in sound science and developed through a consensus-based stakeholder process. Its goal is to create cost-effective regulations that achieve environmental objectives without imposing undue burdens on the successful operation of businesses. This approach balances environmental stewardship with economic vitality, fostering a sustainable and prosperous business environment in Arizona.

Health Care
Co-chairs: Jason Bezozo (Banner Health) and Chuck Bassett (Blue Cross Blue Shield)
The Health Care Policy Committee is committed to ensuring statewide access to high-quality health care. The committee develops innovative solutions to reduce the number of uninsured Arizonans and addresses the issue of government cost-shifting to the private sector. Additionally, the committee advocates for free market principles in the delivery and payment of health care services, promoting competition and efficiency to enhance overall health care quality and affordability for all Arizonans.

Infrastructure, Innovation & Competitiveness
Chair: Suzanne Kinney (NAIOP)
The Infrastructure, Innovation & Competitiveness Policy Committee champions policies that retain existing businesses, diversify industry sectors, and stimulate new business growth and job creation. The committee advocates for free market policies that foster entrepreneurial advancement and innovation, thereby enhancing Arizona’s competitive business climate and creating opportunities for all residents. It also advances policies and funding initiatives for infrastructure improvements, maintenance, and access to modern technologies. This commitment to a dependable infrastructure ensures sustained employment for Arizonans and enhances the state's attractiveness to businesses.

Insurance & Workers’ Compensation
Chair: Mark Kendall (CopperPoint Insurance)
The Insurance & Workers’ Compensation Policy Committee is dedicated to advocating for policies that limit abuse and maintain competitive workers’ compensation insurance premiums. The committee supports a balanced approach that ensures fair protection for consumers while fostering an insurance regulatory environment conducive to competition and product innovation. By promoting these principles, the committee aims to create a robust insurance market that benefits both businesses and consumers in Arizona.

Legal, Labor & Regulatory Affairs
Co-chairs: Steve Twist (Services Group of America) and Carrie Ryerson (Shamrock Foods)
The Legal, Labor & Regulatory Affairs Policy Committee champions policies that alleviate unnecessary regulatory burdens on private entities and enhance Arizona’s legal system. The committee advocates for the free market through the fair and efficient adjudication of disputes, supporting a balanced distribution of power and accountability among the courts, state Legislature, executive branch, and Arizona Corporation Commission. Additionally, the committee promotes policies that strengthen the employee-employer relationship, enabling employers to maintain a competitive and adaptable labor environment while respecting employees’ rights. The committee is committed to protecting Arizona’s right-to-work status, safeguarding private property rights of employers, and upholding employers' rights to determine employment policies, salaries, and benefits.

Taxation
Michael DiMaria (Valadez & Associates)
The Taxation Policy Committee advocates for a state and local taxation system that is globally competitive, fair, consistent, transparent, and easily administered. The committee supports a broad tax base with the lowest possible rates to stimulate economic growth and encourage capital investment in Arizona. The committee aims to foster a business climate that enhances economic vitality, ensures the privacy of confidential taxpayer information, and improves the quality of life for all Arizonans. Additionally, the committee strives to avoid inequities and distortions, ensuring fair treatment for all businesses regardless of size, thereby promoting a vibrant and equitable economic environment.

Water, Energy & Natural Resources
Co-chairs: Richard Silverman (Salmon, Lewis & Weldon, PLC) and Don Isaacson (Isaacson Law)
The Water, Energy & Natural Resources Policy Committee is dedicated to ensuring the sustainable management of Arizona’s vital water resources, natural assets, and critical energy infrastructure. These resources are essential to the state’s industry, economy, and ecology. The committee promotes a vibrant and growing economy by advocating for policies that balance economic growth with the responsible stewardship of water, State Trust Lands, forests, minerals, aggregate materials, wildlife, and other natural resources. Recognizing that overregulation can impose undue costs and jeopardize beneficial operations, the committee seeks to prevent excessive regulatory burdens on industry. Additionally, the committee is committed to educating the public and policymakers about Arizona’s water supplies, energy infrastructure, and natural resource industries, supporting informed long-term planning and management to safeguard the state's future.

Workforce, Talent Supply & Education
Co-chairs: David Howell (Wells Fargo) and Jay Heiler (Great Hearts)
The Workforce, Talent Supply & Education Policy Committee is committed to advancing a well-designed P-20 education system. This system serves individual students, fosters strong community development, and delivers a talented workforce prepared for future job markets. The committee advocates for an education system that is aligned with employer needs, accountable to students and families, transparent, and results-focused. It supports policies that encourage innovation, measure outcomes, and reward success. The committee also emphasizes the importance of enabling stakeholders and parents to easily identify quality schools, ensuring they can make the best educational choices for their children. Through these efforts, the committee aims to create a dynamic and responsive education system that equips students with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
