I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former legislator Laura Knaperek. She was absolutely one of the classiest elected officials and people that I have ever met. She was a policy force on key issues that will positively impact the state for years to come. But more importantly, Laura was a trusted friend. She will be remembered as a decent and caring human being who always wore a big smile. My thoughts are with her family at this difficult time.
