Franquist to serve as Director of Regulatory Affairs
PHOENIX (Jan. 23, 2024)—The Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry is pleased to welcome to its team Tim Franquist to serve in a new role as Director of Regulatory Affairs.
The hiring of Franquist comes as the EPA continues to ramp up job-killing federal air quality regulations on Arizona. The Chamber is excited to have on board a dedicated professional to help businesses navigate the onslaught of regulations and advocate for responsible regulatory policies that balance environmental stewardship with economic development.
Franquist joins the Chamber after serving for two years as Environmental Director for the Maricopa Association of Governments. Previously, he served as Deputy Director for Arizona State Parks and Trails. He also worked for more than 15 years for the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality, including for several years as the agency’s Air Quality Director.
“Tim’s extensive experience and knowledge about complex environmental issues make him a fantastic addition to our team,” said Chamber President and CEO Danny Seiden. “His expertise will be crucial in helping our members and the broader business community understand and navigate the intricacies of air quality policy, particularly during this time of federal regulatory onslaught. We’re lucky to have him on board.”
“I am excited to be part of an organization that actively advocates for responsible regulatory practices and policies,” Franquist said. “It is essential to strike a balance between environmental concerns and the economic well-being of our state, and I look forward to contributing to Arizona’s continued success.”
