PHOENIX (March 11, 2022)—Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry President and CEO Danny Seiden released the following statement:
“The Maricopa County Superior Court’s ruling today was the right one, and it reinforces what has been our position since Day One: Proposition 208 represented a brazen attempt by out-of-state interests to override the state Constitution and impose the largest income tax hike in state history.
“This decision is positive news for Arizona taxpayers, small business and our economy – all of which would be harmed by the implementation of Proposition 208. While its proponents might choose to appeal today’s ruling, we’re optimistic the state Supreme Court will reject the unconstitutional measure as it did less than a year ago. Doing so is necessary to ensure Arizona continues to have the nation’s most competitive flat income tax rate and remains a jobs juggernaut.”
